When we think of gothic literature we generally think of novels and short stories, but there was also quite a vogue for gothic poetry in the 19th century. There was Poe of course, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s vampire poem Christabel. And Keats wrote a number of poems involving monstrous creatures like the lamia.
