Being a bit of a literary ignoramous I was not aware that Edity Nesbit (author of The Railway Children) also wrote ghost stories. I am currently enjoying an anthology of her ghost stories (The Power of Darkness - Tales of Terror) and enjoying it a lot.
The first couple struck me as no more than little pastiches, but the subsequent tales have touch a nerve with me.
