I hope I didn't give the impression that The Oxford Book of Gothic Tales isn't worth buying. I wasn't overly impressed by the more modern stories, but it does include an interesting selection of classic gothic tales. Including a number of stories and writers that I hadn't encountered before. I particularly enjoyed Petrus Boel's Andreas Vasalius the Anatomist and Thomas Hardy's Barbara of the House of Grebe.
