Following on from my brief mention of writers in the Jamesian tradition, here is an article some of you might like: Shadows Of The Master by Mike Ashley. The article doesn't mention my favourite Jamesian, H Russell Wakefield, as it focusses solely on "conscious imitators of the master" most of whom knew James personally, and were present when he first read his ghost stories aloud. However it is good fun and contains many tantalizing quotes from stories by authors such as Malden and Munby; Ashley also has the grace to give Ramsey Campbell the credit he deserves for evolving from "spawn of Lovecraft" into an author capable of delivering real terror, often with an antiquarian flavour.
