Has anyone here read "Nocturnes" by Joseph Connolly, which is a collection fo short stories, and two novellas? It's relatively new, but very reminiscent of M.R. James and H.P. Lovecraft, and concocts unsettling tales of demons who steal children, macabre rituals, witches... and strange inkpot monkeys that suck the blood from those who use them. I've been very taken with it - usually I'm not a big goer for contemporary horror/supernatural fiction - and would be interested to know if anyone else has come across it and what they think...
