I've been reading some of Clark Ashton Smith's Zothique stories - The Death of Ilalotha (very dark), The Tomb-Spawn (even darker) and The Dark Eidolon (gloriously decadent). All three stories are very dark fantasy/horror. Such magnificently lush writing! I love it.
