I’m still bingeing on stories, mostly 19th century ones, of ghosts and things that go bump in the night. Last night I read R. S. Hawker’s The Botathen Ghost (interesting for its account of an Anglican exorcism in the 17th century),. Algernon Blackwood’s The Empty House and F. Marion Crawford’s The Screaming Skull (an excellent and highly original story).
