I'm a reference librarian from 9-5; a paranormal investigator/fiber artist/photographer/letterboxer/bookcrosser in my spare time :)
Favourite horror or ghost story author, and why:
Ditto for Tess' love of Jackson and Carter; two of my faves. Edward Gorey if that counts :) I collect a lot of anthologies. One of my favorites being "What Did Miss Darrington See? An Anthology of Feminist Supernatural Fiction" and "The Haunted Looking Glass: Ghost Stories." One story in the latter, "The Empty House" by Algernon Blackwood, is one of the best supernatural tales I have ever read. Favourite horror-film and director?:
Several: I love the original "The Haunting"..the scene with the mumbling voice and hand holding..*shivers* "The Changeling," "The Others," "Martin"; I, too, love "The Company of Wolves" and "Picnic at Hanging Rock."
How did you get into horror/the supernatural?:
Since I was small. My grandmother used to tell me all sorts of legends and tales when I would visit here at her farm in rural KY, and I was forever checking out ghosty books from the library. "Jane Emily" is one of the earlier ones I remember reading.
Ever had any strange,inexplicable and/or scary experiences of your own?:
A few. I'm in a paranormal investigative group.
