I’ve only read fifteen horror books this year, and some of those are really only marginally horror. The highlights were:
Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen), Seven Gothic Tales
John Buchan, The Watcher by the Threshold
E. T. A. Hoffmann, Tales of Hoffmann
Dennis Wheatley, To the Devil - a Daughter (a fun campy read like all of Wheatley’s supernatural stuff)
F. Marion Crawford, The Witch of Prague
Seven Gothic Tales is the only one I’d describe as a great book. The others were either fun, or interesting.
