I’m always on the lookout for 19th century horror or gothic writers I haven’t read before. My latest discovery is Lucy Clifford. So far I’ve only found one story by her, a kind of twisted fairy tale called The New Mother, originally published in 1882. It’s about children tempted to misbehave by the promise of seeing and hearing a secret.
Has anyone read any other Lucy Clifford stories? Do you have any recommendations?
