"The Night Gallery Reader" which I mentioned earlier is a surprisingly interesting anthology. I think the best story in the collection is Fritz Leiber's "The Girl With the Hungry Eyes", which I think is one of the finest offbeat horror stories of all time. You could describe it as a vampire story, but there is no blood-sucking, no dripping fangs and no capes and bats.

Here is an interesting website devoted to Clark Ashton Smith, his life, fiction and literary criticism: The Eldritch Dark. Perhaps for our next group read we could consider one of the many online stories here? Any other suggestions gratefully accepted, and of course if any of you have any thoughts about the last read you're welcome to post them whenever :)
